Why buy a property in Algorfa?

Algorfa sits on the plain of the Segura river, a dozen kilometres from the beaches of Guardamar and twenty minutes from Torrevieja, a town of a few thousand people with a square, a market, a health centre and the everyday shops that a golf resort does not provide. La Finca Golf, three kilometres away, is the reason to look here: an 18-hole course, a five-star hotel with a spa, restaurants, and around them low-density streets of detached villas with gardens and private pools. Buyers come for the space and the quiet, for the course itself, and for a price that stays below the coastal resorts of Orihuela Costa for a comparable villa. Alicante airport is half an hour away, close enough for a long weekend, and the countryside of the Vega Baja, orange groves and the river, starts at the end of every street.

Where to buy in Algorfa?

Twenty homes are listed, nearly all of them at La Finca Golf. Twelve villas with private pools make up the core: three-bedroom houses of 105 to 140 m², most between 470,000 and 680,000 euros, two larger four-bedroom homes of 180 and 320 m² at around 800,000 euros, a six-bedroom house at 965,000 euros, and two recently built villas of 139 and 191 m² at 1.6 and 1.8 million, the top of the resort. Eight bungalows, homes in small two-storey buildings where you choose between a ground floor with its own garden and an upper floor with a roof solarium, offer two or three bedrooms on 68 to 97 m² between 290,000 and 365,000 euros, with communal pools. There are no apartments at the moment and no home within five kilometres of the sea: Algorfa is a choice of golf and countryside over beach, and the villas on the resort sit around the course rather than in a town grid.

How to get to Algorfa?

The AP-7 is ten minutes away. Alicante airport is about 30 minutes, Murcia-Corvera about 45. Guardamar and its beaches are a quarter of an hour, Torrevieja and Orihuela twenty minutes, Elche about 35 minutes and Murcia about 45. Rojales and Ciudad Quesada, with their shops and restaurants, are five minutes from the resort.
