Buying a property in Spain starts with a budget, and a budget needs figures. The ones on this page come from our own catalogue: every new home listed on rbplace.com, grouped by region and by town, with the median asking price, the median price per square metre and the range in which the middle half of the listings sits. They are developer asking prices, not a market statistic, and we show them only where at least five homes are listed. The date of the last update appears on each card.

How to read these figures
The median is the price in the middle of the list: half of the homes are listed below it, half above. We prefer it to the average because a handful of villas at two or three million euros would pull an average far above what most homes cost. The middle half of the listings is the range between the cheapest quarter and the most expensive quarter; a narrow range means the homes in a town resemble each other, a wide one means the town mixes apartments and villas.
The price per square metre is the median of the price per square metre of each listing, computed on the indoor area declared by the developer. Definitions of surface vary from one developer to another, so read these figures as orders of magnitude. Prices exclude VAT (10 % on a new home), stamp duty and fees: allow 13 to 14 % on top, as explained in our tax guide for Swiss buyers.
A listing is one home or one home type in a development, at the developer’s asking price; a development with several types appears several times. The catalogue is renewed as developments sell out and new ones are listed, so the figures move with it.
