Why buy a property in San Miguel de Salinas?
San Miguel de Salinas is a town of around 8,000 people on a ridge above the salt lagoon of Torrevieja, with a church square, a market and a real centre that stays open all year. Around it, the urbanisations built over the past decades house a large international community, drawn by what still brings buyers today: a position ten minutes from Torrevieja and fifteen from the beaches of Orihuela Costa, but well above the coastal bustle, with wide views over the lagoon, the sea and the countryside. Golf is the other draw, with Las Colinas, Villamartín, Las Ramblas, Campoamor and Vistabella all within a quarter of an hour. For a comparable home, prices are lower than on the coast, and the town has what a permanent home needs, schools, a health centre, supermarkets and the CV-95 road to Torrevieja and Orihuela.
Where to buy in San Miguel de Salinas?
Thirty-one homes are listed. Twelve bungalows form the base of the market, homes in small two-storey buildings where you choose between a ground floor with its own garden and an upper floor with a roof solarium, two or three bedrooms on 65 to 92 m², between 210,000 and 415,000 euros, all with communal pools. Ten apartments follow, eight of them two- and three-bedroom units between 244,000 and 400,000 euros, plus two large three-bedroom apartments of over 130 m² at 640,000 and 935,000 euros. Two penthouses at 316,000 and 390,000 euros, and seven villas that split in two groups: three-bedroom houses between 345,000 and 630,000 euros, and three large villas with private pools on generous plots between 1 and 1.25 million euros. Everything is more than five kilometres from the beach: this is inland living, with the sea as a view and a fifteen-minute drive.
Two areas stand out in our selection. La Cañada, next to the town, is a quiet residential urbanisation of recent homes within walking distance of the centre. Las Colinas Golf, on the boundary with Orihuela, is the gated resort where the largest villas and apartments in our selection are found: an 18-hole course, a club, restaurants and a beach club on the coast for residents. The other homes are spread between the town's urbanisations and the countryside towards the golf courses.
How to get to San Miguel de Salinas?
The CV-95 links San Miguel de Salinas to Torrevieja in ten minutes and to Orihuela in twenty, with the AP-7 a few minutes away. Alicante airport is about 40 minutes, Murcia-Corvera about the same. The beaches of Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja are a quarter of an hour, Murcia and Alicante each under an hour.
