Why buy a property in Los Montesinos?

Los Montesinos sits on the western shore of the Laguna Salada de Torrevieja, the pink salt lake that gives this corner of the Vega Baja its unusual light, and only became a municipality of its own in 1990. It has kept the feel of a Spanish village, a church square, a weekly market, bars and a handful of supermarkets, while the residential areas around it have grown with an international community that lives here all year. The reason people choose it over the coast is simple: for the price of an apartment in Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa you get a detached villa with a garden and a private pool, in a quiet street, ten to fifteen minutes from the beaches of La Mata and Torrevieja. Two golf courses are a short drive away, Vistabella on the edge of the town and La Finca a little further inland.

Where to buy in Los Montesinos?

Sixteen homes are on offer. The twelve villas are the heart of it: detached houses of 73 to 176 m² with a private pool, mostly three bedrooms and two or three bathrooms, from 366,000 euros for a two-bedroom to 780,000 euros for a five-bedroom, with a typical price close to 465,000 euros. Around them, three bungalows of 75 to 82 m² with two bedrooms and a communal pool, between 270,000 and 310,000 euros, and one three-bedroom house in a small complex at 315,000 euros. There are no large apartment buildings in Los Montesinos; anyone searching for a flat here will find the closest thing is a bungalow, a home in a small two-storey building where you choose between the ground floor with a private garden and the upper floor with a roof solarium.

Two areas concentrate the offer. Vistabella Golf, on the western edge of the town, is a resort built around an 18-hole course designed by Manuel Piñero, with shops and restaurants of its own: the villas are laid out around the course, and this is where the largest share of our selection is. La Herrada, on the Torrevieja side, is a residential district next to the town centre, where recent villas and bungalows stand among established homes.

How to get to Los Montesinos?

The town is on the CV-945 between Torrevieja and Almoradí, a few minutes from the AP-7 and the N-332. Alicante airport is about 40 minutes away and Murcia-Corvera about 45. Torrevieja, with its hospital, shopping and city services, is ten minutes to the east, the beaches of La Mata and Guardamar a quarter of an hour, and Orihuela Costa twenty minutes.
