Why buy a property in Benijófar?

Benijófar is one of the smallest municipalities in the Vega Baja by area and one of the most international: a flat, walkable town beside the Segura, with a church square, a market, a health centre, supermarkets and bars where several languages are spoken at the counter. It has none of the sprawl of the big coastal resorts, which is precisely its appeal. Ciudad Quesada and its golf course, La Marquesa, are five minutes away, La Finca Golf ten, the beaches of Guardamar and Torrevieja a quarter of an hour, Alicante airport half an hour. Property for sale in Benijofar is mostly apartments and penthouses in new low-rise complexes around a pool, priced well under what the same home costs on the coast: it suits buyers who want a lock-up-and-leave base for the winter months, or a first purchase in Spain without stretching the budget.

Where to buy in Benijófar?

Twenty-three homes are listed. The seventeen apartments run from about 250,000 euros for a one-bedroom to 400,000 euros for a three-bedroom of a hundred square metres, with a typical price around 320,000 euros: two-bedroom flats of 57 to 71 m² sit between 253,000 and 299,000 euros, three- and four-bedroom units of 71 to 101 m² between 308,000 and 400,000 euros. Five penthouses with roof terraces go from 285,000 to 441,000 euros. One three-bedroom villa with a private pool, at 465,000 euros, is the only house in the selection. Every home is in a complex with a communal pool, and all are more than five kilometres from the sea. The offer comes mainly from three developments in and around the town, built in phases, which is why several homes share the same layouts and finishes at slightly different prices, and why new phases appear regularly.

How to get to Benijófar?

The AP-7 is ten minutes away at Rojales. Alicante airport is about 30 minutes, Murcia-Corvera about 45. Guardamar and its beaches are a quarter of an hour, Torrevieja and Orihuela twenty minutes, Elche about 35 minutes and Murcia about 45.
