Why buy a property in La Marina?
La Marina is one of the largest and most established urbanisations on the southern Costa Blanca, developed since the 1980s around a grid of quiet residential streets. Unlike newer resorts, it has a settled feel: mature gardens, a commercial centre with supermarkets, restaurants and medical services, and a community that lives here year-round rather than only in summer. Prices remain attractive, with renovated bungalows from around 120,000 euros and modern new build villas from 250,000 euros, making it a practical entry point to the Spanish coast.
What is life like in La Marina?
The urbanisation sits on a hill a few minutes from La Marina beach, a long stretch of natural sand backed by protected dunes and pine forest, one of the least built-up beaches on the Costa Blanca. The village of La Marina proper, a short drive away, adds an authentic Spanish counterpoint with its weekly market and traditional bars. Elche and its UNESCO-listed palm groves are 20 minutes inland, and the salt lagoons of Santa Pola, with their flamingo colonies, are just to the north.
How to get to La Marina?
Alicante airport is around 25 minutes away by the N-332 or the AP-7, with year-round direct flights from Geneva, Zurich, Paris, Brussels and Luxembourg. Both Alicante and Elche are within half an hour for city services, shopping and hospitals.
